Jeannie Seely, known for her extensive performances at the Grand Ole Opry, will receive a fitting farewell tribute on the stage she cherished. Seely’s team announced that her public memorial service will be held as a special Grand Ole Opry show on Thursday, August 14th. Dubbed “Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show,” the event commemorates the remarkable fact that Seely graced the Opry stage an incredible 5,397 times during her illustrious career. Seely passed away on August 1 at the age of 85 due to complications from an intestinal infection, after battling various health issues for nearly a year. The celebration of Seely’s life will be broadcast live on 650 AM WSM and livestreamed, allowing fans to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Opry Trust Fund or organizations that support animal welfare, causes close to Seely’s heart. (Taste Of Country)
